I never really talked about my first job to anyone, not even my parents. Maybe it’s because I never really considered it a job or maybe because I didn’t want people knowing that side of me.
Either way, my first job was a professional forums poster which I did when I was around 16-17. I made just above $100 from it, which i spent on World of Warcraft gold and shit from ebay. It was probably the best job I’ve ever had.
I don’t remember the name of the company I worked for (I never really thought it’d be useful on a resume), but what I do remember is that I earned 15 cents per post, and that I could do 40-100 Posts Per Day. Not really a working salary, but I had fun doing it and I didn’t have to leave my house.
The first job we (the company of freelance posters) got was this new legal forum for some lawyer by the name of Harvey Ziff or something. The job meant we had to create multiple accounts and pretend that we’re lawyers and people seeking legal help. One thread I made sticks out in my mind: this character I made was painting a high up window on a ladder in a coffee shop. The ladder tipped and he rolled his ankle when he landed, dislocating it. Me and my “co-workers” debated whether he had a case or not to sue the coffee shop. The whole thing was surreal and hilarious.
The second job was a massive order for something like 5,000 posts on an electronics forum. It had a ton of sub forums and a few people already posting in it, and it felt like a dream job. Get home from school, talk about cell phones and shit like that for a few hours, plus get paid for doing it! Sadly, after that job, the work dried up and I lost interest. Oh well.
